Blogaversary GIVEAWAY Re-draw

This post is especially for everybody who left comments on my 'Blogaversary' and  'It's a GIVEAWAY' posts earlier this month.

Unfortunately the winner of the draw has not come forward to claim the prize so I have had to do a re-draw from the existing entries.

Here is a reminder of the prize.

All the remaining entries were put into the 'hat' (wicker basket) and drawn by my son once again.

And the winner is.............

Please e-mail me  with your postal address,Susi and I will send this little cutie off to you asap. She has been waiting along time to find a home. LOL!

Thanks, once again to all who took part.........MAYBE I will do another sometime in the future.

Paint Party Friday

Hi there,
It's that time again. Last Friday I posted about a book. This is how it is looking now.

You can see the first two completed pages here.

I have now completed my third page.

The Red Door.

Sometimes titles just come to me as it did with this. So, even though it was just in my book I still couldn't resist giving it this title.

Ideally I would have liked to add stitching but as it was in my book I had to add some imitation running stitches for the flower. The button was hand sewn on in red embroidery cotton to compliment the red door.

Thanks for visiting and why not take a look at what other party-goers have been up to this week. Just click on the badge in the side-bar and take a look. x

Recently I posted an update on a handmade book I was making. I have now finished making it.

It started out as this

....and this is it now.

It's covered with my painted papers. I have had the letter stickers for ages so I thought why not use them.

The title of my book is 'Play Time' as I want it to be somewhere to try things out and not to worry about what the pages turn out like. Something that I find it hard to do. I have completed two pages so far and I have already broke my own rule on the second page by struggling with the background. I seem to have had a mental block with backgrounds lately.

Here are some more images of the book so far.

I used a piece of scrapbook paper for the inside cover and this is the first page. It is done in acrylics with a piece of dyed scrim.

I little while ago I posted about the beginnings of a little handmade book.  At the time I was working on the cover. Well..... today I thought I would start to prepare the signatures. I was undecided as to what paper to put inside and I had lots of lovely comments suggesting that I use a mixture of papers
I recently bought an over-sized cheap sketchbook because I liked the paper inside so I have decided to use it for my pages.

These are the signatures.

There are five signatures and each has four inserts. At the moment they are white but before I stitch them into the cover I may tea stain some of them and decorate some of them ready to work on..

On top of the signatures you can see a template for the positioning of the wholes for the binding.

I hadn't tried out the paper yet so I got out my trusty Portfolio oil pastels and quickly drew this little cutie.

She just popped by to see what I was up to.

Thanks for visiting. x

I took a picture of how my desk is looking this Wednesday but I couldn't bring myself to post it. It is messy and muddled just like how my head feels........time for a tidy up and a regroup, I think.

Yesterday I posted a WIP and today I 'm calling it finished but I am not happy with the background. However I can't bring myself to add any more to it. So here it is.....

However, 4 days have gone by and the winner has not yet been in touch with their postal address.

The result of the draw will stand for another 10 days. After that date a new winner will be drawn from the existing entries.

Last Sunday it was my three year 'Blogaversary' and to celebrate I thought I would have a GIVEAWAY.

mixed media on watercolour paper
5 1/2 x 3 1/2 inches.

Some close up shots......

She is wearing her party hat to celebrate.

All you have to do if you want to be in with a chance of winning this original piece is to leave a comment on this post.

The draw will be done in the old fashioned way out of a 'hat' as apposed to a 'random generator' thingy as I wouldn't know where to start in organizing one of them.

So I've got my fingers crossed that my regular visitors see this post and join in and I will draw the winner and post the result on Saturday 14th February (ooh! Valentines Day).

Those of you that left a comment on my 'Blogaversary' post 8th of Feb will automatically be included in the draw. But if you pop by again it would be nice if you could leave another comment just to confirm that you wish to be included.

Good Luck!! x

Material Girl

This little one is created with my Portfolio pastels, which I am absolutely loving at the moment. I can't seem to put them down.

I used fabric for her dress this time and also for the flower as the theme over at Mix it Monthly is fabric.

So today I am linking this post to both Paint Party Friday and Mix It Monthly.

Thanks for visiting. x

woyww and AJJ

There wasn't much to speak of on my desk half an hour ago. Just a lot of mess. But out came my Portfolio pastels and 'Hildy' was born.

I like creating these ' naive' girls.
